Jefferson Comprehensive Health Center, Inc. (JCHC) provides quality healthcare and advice to our patients after regular hours. Patients are able to speak to a licensed provider and obtain clinical advice when the health centers are closed.
After regular business hours at each location, patients can dial (601) 786-3475 for clinical advice and concerns. The call will be answered by the answering service (Custom Call Center). Patients who need primary care needs will be referred to the Natchez After-Hours Clinic located at 145 Homochitto Drive, Natchez, MS until 9:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday.
All calls after 9:00 p.m. will continue to be answered by the answering service. The answering service will collect the patient's contact information (name, date of birth, and call back number). Afterwards the on-call provider is notified by the answering service immediately that a patient has requested clinical advice. The on-call provider has access to a mobile device for after- hours use. Upon receipt of notification, the on-call provider contacts the patient(s) by phone and converses with the patient to make an assessment and provide clinical advice.
If it is determined that it is NOT an emergency, the patient is advised to come in as a walk-in on the next business day, schedule an appointment, or ask for a same day appointment.
If it is determined that IT IS an emergency, the patient is advised to call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room. Medical staff will document the call in the patient's Electronic Health Record. Upon patient's return to JCHC, a release of information will be obtained from the emergency room facility or hospital to assure continuity of care. A report of the encounter is generated in the patient's EHR.
